1494 Redwood Landfill Overcrossing, Hwy 101

The Redwood Landfill Overcrossing project was the installation of an overcrossing on Highway 101 North of Novato. The purpose of the project was to facilitate ease of accessing Redwood Landfill from North and Southbound Highway 101. Acceleration and deceleration lanes were created for North and Southbound Highway 101 to help aleviate accidents arising from traffic congestion created by vehicles entering and exiting Highway 101 from Redwood Landfill.

NBC repositioned large amounts of earth in order to create the roadway for the overcrossing. Portions of Highway 101 were widened, rocked, and repaved for the acceleration and deceleration lanes. The roads to and from the overcrossing structure were rock graded and paved.
