The Southgate subdivision has been constructing over the last two years. The four phase housing project, located on the corner of Lakeville Hwy & Frates Road in Petaluma, stands to produce 242 homes to families—26 of which are low income houses.
The first two phases are complete, generating 141 houses to homeowners. Phase III and Phase IV are currently in progress. Phase III will add 75 new homes while Phase IV will add 26 low income homes.
NBC’s surface engineering crews broke ground over 2 years ago processing dirt and grading the site for underground utilities. Underground crews came in and installed thousands of feet of storm drain, sewer, and water lines to accomodate the new housing structures. Some offsite work was needed to connect to existing utility lines. Dirt and rock grading crews graded housing pads, roadways, curb and gutter, and sidewalks. The concrete was later poured by a subcontractor and NBC paved the roadways. Offsite road reconstruction and paving was needed to renovate deteriorating road conditions. This was all accomplished by our hardworking crews who sometimes worked long shifts and 6 days a week to complete the first two phases.
NBC is currently working on Phases III and IV. Dirt is being processed and engineered at Phase III while underground crews work at Phase IV installing utilities. We will keep you informed on future actions.
